Expandable-bottom paper-padded mailer for bulky items
WaveBag 3D is an expandable paper-padded mailer designed as an alternative to small shipping boxes. Its expandable bottom creates extra internal space for bulky or boxed products, opening to 70, 90 or 130 mm depending on size, while the padded flap protects the product all around and a double adhesive closure makes it reusable for returns. It is recyclable with paper under Aticelca 501 (Level B). WaveBag 3D won the WorldStar Packaging Awards 2025 in the Packaging Materials & Components and E-commerce categories, and the Best Packaging 2024 award.

WaveBag products are made with 100% recycled paper. They are assessed as recyclable with paper at Level B under the Aticelca 501:2025 evaluation system, and as technically recyclable in paper mills with a conventional recycling process, based on independent testing (Innovhub, 2026) to the CEPI recyclability laboratory test method. Dispose of them with paper according to your local collection guidelines. WaveBag products comply with the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). FSC® and PEFC™ certified products are available on request.

What does the 3D bottom do?
The base of the mailer is designed to expand when a bulky item is inserted. The bottom, with its distinctive half-moon shape, opens to create more internal space, so the mailer adapts to its contents while keeping the convenience and protection of a padded envelope. In size J/6 it can hold products up to 220 × 290 × 130 mm.
